The work is signed Max Shaye in the lower right corner. The reverse of the wooden stretcher includes the handwritten title and attribution RHAPSODY IN BLUE by Max Shaye 1979. Further identification on the verso includes an embossed black plastic label reading BLUE RHAPSODY $650 and an inventory sticker for Oakland Family Services. The painting is set within a slim silver-tone metal gallery frame. 30.5 x 40.25 inches. The paint layer exhibits localized crazing and fine cracking, most notably within the areas of darker blue pigment. The silver-tone frame shows minor corner separation and age-related wear.
