Bidspirit auction | Johnson, Impasto Autumnal Landscape

Johnson, Impasto Autumnal Landscape - Signed Johnson in red at the lower right. This autumnal landscape is rendered in a heavy impasto oil on stretched canvas, featuring a central gnarled tree with ochre foliage set against a post-and-rail fence. The work is presented in its original rustic, light-toned wooden frame. measures 11 x 14 inches. Extensive craquelure is visible throughout the thick impasto paint layers, particularly in the tree and foliage. The surface shows an accumulation of dust within the deep texture, and the frame exhibits minor age-related wear and scuffing.
