Two Pharmaceutical Mortar and Pestle Sets - The first set includes a glazed ceramic mortar honoring Louis Hebert with relief inscriptions reading 1580 1627 and secundum artem, paired with a turned wood pestle branded for Coricidin 1949-1969. The second set is comprised of a cast metal mortar and pestle featuring horizontal incised lines and a circle mark containing a stylized character and U S A. Both pieces display traditional apothecary forms intended for commemorative or promotional purposes. Ceramic mortar height: 4.25 inches Metal mortar height: 3 inches Metal pestle length: 3.25 inches. The ceramic mortar remains in good condition with no chips or crazing observed, while the wood pestle shows minor wear at the ends. The metal components exhibit surface oxidation, general wear, and prominent casting seams.
