Schering Louis Dufilho Mortar Set - Produced by Schering, this cast brass commemorative set honors Louis J. Dufilho Jr., recognized as America's first licensed practicing pharmacist. The mortar features relief imagery of the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum storefront and includes two small holes in the interior base. The set is complete with two solid metal pestles of differing lengths. Mortar height: 4 inches Long pestle length: 8 inches Short pestle length: 5 inches. The items show minor surface wear, light tarnish, and small pits consistent with the casting process. A small circular area of oxidation and finish loss is visible on the lower body of the mortar.
