Joseph Ottolenghi, the author / publisher also issued a folio edition of this work in the same year (see next lot). Ottolenghi (d. 1570), was the Rabbi of Cremona and provided much of the scholarship found in the Riva di Trento publications. The printer, Jacob Marcaria thanks Ottolenghi profusely and gives him the honorific title of “HaGaon” in both the title and introduction. For more regarding Ottolenghi, see M.
