Obverse: Right profile of bearded Moses, with legend in Hebrew: “Moses Master of all the Prophets.” Reverse: Hebrew Tablets of the Law, surmounted on each side by a crown. Dated. * Aaron. Silver. Obverse :Left profile of bearded Aaron wearing priestly garments, with legend in Hebrew: “Aaron the High Priest.” Reverse: Ark with cherubs, with legend in Hebrew: “Aaron lifted his hands upon the nation and blessed them.” Dated. * David. Silver. Obverse: Right profile of a crowned David, with legend in Hebrew: “David son of Jesse, King of Israel.” Reverse: Harp, with legend in Hebrew: “I will bend my ear to a parable, with a lyre, I will solve my riddle.” Dated. Jacques-Jean Barre (1793-1855) was the 17th chief coin engraver (graveur général) at the Monnaie de Paris. In this position, he engraved and designed French medals, the Great Seal of France, bank notes and postage stamps.
