Samuel Wiener (Koheleth Moshe no. 1851) discusses the rarity of this book and the extent to which the Friedlander Collection went in order to acquire it for what is now known as, the National Library of Russia, St. Petersburg. In the present introduction, the Tosfos Yom-Tov records that he was highly impressed with the depth of knowledge exhibited by the author. The Tosfos Yom-Tov also provides here occasional comments, each of which are indicated with the words ‘Amar Yom-Tov.’
