The book is a critical attack upon the entire Sephardic community of Amsterdam - both its institutions and its leaders.  Also contains important historical information concerning the economic suffering of the Jews of Jerusalem, the movement of financial contributions to the Holy Land and the integrity of its emissaries - of which the author (1671-1751) was one.
