An important work of responsa containing a wealth of contemporary history. The Italian-born author corresponded with many of the great rabbis of his era, including the Shalo’h, the Levush, R. Simcha Luzzatto of Venice, and others (see f. 2r). The rare Haskamah here from the Shelo’h was provided by him while he was in transit in Venice on his way to Eretz Israel. The author (Otzar HaRabbanim 9582) emigrated from Poland to Italy and there became a disciple of MaHaRa’M Padua and R. Avigdor of Venice.
