Jackson 1850 This Hagadah, noted on the title-page “Second American Edition,” is, in a sense, the first. - For the first edition that was printed in New York in 1837 by Solomon Henry Jackson states that it was “Translated into English by the late David Levy of London.” - The present 1850 edition, published by Solomon Henry Jackson’s son, John Marcus Jackson, has no attribution to a foreign translator and is thus a “pure” American edition. Rare. Only five copies known in American institutions. No copies in British institutions.
