A WATERED STEEL BLADE AND ENAMELLED DRAGON SHAPED HANDLE SWORD, INDIA, 18TH - 19TH CENTURY - The hilt is finely cast in the form of a lion or dragon with floral enamelwork. The guard terminates in paw-like quillons, and the langet is extended into a floral chape. The blade is a long, deeply curved single-edged shamshir form with visible watering (damascening), possibly wootz steel. Provenance: Ex Wagner Collection, published in ”Arms of the paladins”. L: 91 cm
