AN ALMOHAD POTTERY JUG, SOUTHERN SPAIN, 12TH CENTURY - Of globular form with a short cylindrical neck and slightly everted rim, a single strap handle rising from the shoulder to the lip. The buff earthenware body is decorated in bold black painted designs: spirals encircling the upper body, a chain-like band around the midsection, and motifs below.  H: 20cm
