A PERSIAN CALLIGRAPHY DATED 1971 AND SIGNED REZA MAFI (IRANIAN, 1943-1982) - The work is a symmetrical abstraction in the Naqashi-khat style, featuring interlocking black characters accented by washes of ochre and brown. The composition utilizes traditional Persian or Arabic letterforms arranged into a complex, mirrored vertical arrangement. The work is signed in the lower-left corner with Perso-Arabic script reading رضا مافی above a Latin script signature and date transcribed as R. mafi - 71.
