AN ANCIENT GREEK CORINTHIAN POTTERY OIL LAMP, CIRCA 6TH CENTURY B.C. - Crafted from pale buff terracotta, the piece features the characteristic Corinthian black-figure technique with extensive sgraffito (incised) detailing. The primary iconography consists of two symmetrically arranged winged creatures, likely sirens or sphinxes, positioned around the central aperture. The wings are decorated with fine incised feathering and highlighted with added purplish-red slip. The surrounding field is densely populated with traditional Corinthian filling motifs, including incised rosettes with red centres and various stylized floral elements. A secondary small perforation, intended for a suspension cord, is located near the outer edge.  Diameter: 5cm
