AN EGYPTIAN PALE GREEN GLAZED FAIENCE USHABTI, LATE PERIOD, CIRCA 664–332 BC - An Ancient Egyptian glazed faience shabti figure dating to the Late Period, circa 664-332 BC. The mummiform figure is modelled wearing a tripartite wig and a long, braided divine beard. The arms are crossed over the chest, holding agricultural implements including a hoe and a pick, with a seed bag rendered in relief over the left shoulder. The figure features a characteristic back pillar and stands upon an integral rectangular base. The lower portion of the body is incised with approximately nine horizontal registers of hieroglyphic text, representing the standard shabti spell from the Book of the Dead.  L: 11cm
