A LARGE EGYPTIAN STONE HEART SCARAB WITH THE PRENOMEN OF THUTMOSE III, NEW KINGDOM, CIRCA 1479–1425 B.C. - A LARGE EGYPTIAN STONE HEART SCARAB WITH THE PRENOMEN OF THUTMOSE III, NEW KINGDOM, CIRCA 1479–1425 B.C. An ancient Egyptian heart scarab carved from a mottled dark green stone. The dorsal surface features naturalistic anatomical details including a carved clypeus, prothorax, and elytra. The flat underside is incised with six horizontal registers of hieroglyphic text separated by transverse lines. The inscription includes a cartouche containing the signs for the prenomen of Pharaoh Thutmose III (Mn-Kheper-Re). The remaining text corresponds to Chapter 30B of the Book of the Dead, a funerary spell for the protection of the heart.  Provenance: Private UK collection  Scarab L: 6cm
