FAEQ HASSAN (IRAQ, 1914-1992), THREE NUDES IN A LANDSCAPE, OIL ON BOARD, 1968 - The composition features three figures in varied poses: one seated cross-legged on the left, one reclining in the centre, and one kneeling with arms raised on the right. Two red fruits are depicted on the ground in the lower foreground. The work is executed in a modernist style with flattened perspective and broad, painterly brushstrokes. The colour palette is dominated by layered green tones in the background, with the figures rendered in shades of cream, pink, and pale ochre. The work is signed Faeq and dated 68 in the lower right corner. It is presented in an ornate gilded wood frame featuring a textured fabric inner slip.
