AN EGYPTIAN GREEN GLAZED EARTHENWARE COSMETIC JAR, NEW KINGDOM, 18TH DYNASTY, 1550-1295 B.C. - A wheel-thrown earthenware beaker of waisted cylindrical form, featuring a flared rim and a flat base. The exterior is finished in a mottled olive-green lead glaze with prominent pitting, dark speckling, and vertical streaking. The glaze on the base appears bright and translucent. The underside of the base is marked with two intersecting hand-painted black lines forming a cross.  L: 7cm
