AN EGYPTIAN OBSIDIAN AND GOLD FOIL KOHL POT, MIDDLE KINGDOM, 12TH DYNASTY, CIRCA 1976-1794 B.C. - The vessel features a tapered body that flares towards the rim and narrows slightly at the base. The piece is embellished with bands of applied gold foil at the rim and the foot, displaying a hand-worked or hammered texture. The body material exhibits a natural colour gradient, appearing near-opaque black at the upper portion and transitioning to a translucent olive-brown hue towards the base.  Provenance: Private UK Collection  L: 5.5cm
