A SOFT STONE EGYPTIAN OIL LAMP CARVED WITH A RECLINING ANIMAL, EASTERN ROMAN PERIOD, 3RD CENTURY A.D. - Featuring a sculptural upper section in the form of a reclining animal, possibly an ichneumon or a rodent. The animal body is integrated into the reservoir of the lamp, which includes a central circular fill hole and a tapering nozzle at the front for a wick. The entire sculpture rests upon a small, integral circular foot.  L: 14cm
