EZZAT IBRAHIM (EGYPT, 1892-1923), CORNER OF THE FELUCCAS, OIL ON CANVAS - This mid-20th-century modernist oil painting on stretched canvas depicts a coastal scene featuring several traditional feluccas beached on a sandy shore. In the centre of the composition, a fisherman is seated mending a net. The artist employs a palette of ochre, earthy browns, and deep greens, with the masts and rigging of the boats creating strong diagonal lines against a hazy, atmospheric sky. The work is signed EZZAT in red at the lower left, followed by Arabic script. The reverse of the canvas bears a handwritten inscription in Arabic: ركن الفلايك / عزت ابراهيم / ٥ شارع شكر إسكندرية, which identifies the artist as Ezzat Ibrahim, the title as Corner of the Feluccas, and provides an address in Alexandria, Egypt. The painting is housed in a multi-stepped gilt wooden frame with a textured fabric inner liner. Provenance: Private middle eastern collection 70 by 50cm
