***Auction Highlight*** 1897-p TOP POP! Barber Half Dollars 50c Graded Choice Unc PL By USCG. HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT – Only 2 coins ever given the PL designation!. This original near-Gem Cameo looks like a Proof. A dusting of vanilla patina blankets each side, revealing a strong contrast between satiny devices and deeply reflective fields beneath a light source. Fully struck, expertly preserved and a delight to behold. This premium quality example is worthy of a strong bid. The 1897 vies with the 1896 and 1898 as the best produced early Proof Barber half dollar, but survivors with the degree of cameo contrast evident here are very scarce, especially near the Gem grade level. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
