Group of 2 United States Mint Set in Original Government Packaging! From 1998-1999 with 30 Coins Inside!. Group of 2 United State Mint Set from 1998-1999 included a total of 30 coins. In many ways, the 1998 Mint Set represented the end of an era. The 1998 Mint Set contained the final Washington Quarters before the obverse design would be modified and the reverse would feature five different annual designs commemorating the states. The other coins included were the Kennedy Half Dollar, Roosevelt Dime, Jefferson Nickel, and Lincoln Cent. The ten coins were packaged in two separate mylar packs with tokens representing the Philadelphia and Denver Mints. The outer envelope depicted the circulating coins against a blue background and specifically displayed the reveres design of the quarter. The envelope carried the title “From the United States Mint… The 1998 Uncirculated Coin Set”. An additional message was included at the bottom of the envelope: “This collector’s set includes two 1998 Washington Quarter Dollars. This is the last time the heraldic eagle reverse will appear until at least 2009.” The 1999 Mint Set saw the number of coins increased to 18, and separate envelopes would be provided for the Philadelphia and Denver Mint coins to accommodate the larger format. The expansion of the set was the result of the launch of the 50 State Quarters Program. The quarter dollar would feature five different reverse designs per year, featuring the states in the order they joined the union. Each 1999 Mint Set contained the first five quarter designs featuring Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, and Connecticut. The additional coins included the 1999 Lincoln Cents, Jefferson Nickels, Roosevelt Dimes, and Kennedy Half Dollars. For each coin, there was one example each from the Philadelphia and Denver Mint facilities. Packaging consisted of two separate envelopes themed in blue and red. The blue envelope contained the nine coins produced at the Philadelphia Mint, while the red envelope contained the coins of the Denver Mint. A complete set as issued consists of both envelopes and all of the coins pictured above.
