1980 United States Mint Proof Sets 6 coins. 1980 United States Proof Sets 6 coins. The Set contains 6 coins Lincoln Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter, Kennedy Half Dollar, and Susan B. Anthony Dollar. All coins were minted at the San Francisco mint and carried the “S” mint mark. The proof coins are commonly found with attractive black and white deep cameo finishes. The packaging for the Proof Set was changed from the prior year. The primary plastic holder was smaller in size and the coins were no longer sealed in separate compartments. The coins were placed within slots of an internal red plastic piece, which was sealed between two clear plastic pieces. A black plastic sleeve slid over the plastic holder and could serve as a stand. The outer cardboard box was also changed. It had a single opening at the top for the main holder to slide into.
