Couple of Scenic Postcards from the House of the Rebbe's Parents. Scenic Postcards from the Cities in which the Rebbe was Born and Grew Up - with Confirmation by the rebbetzin Chanah Gourarie - 1. Postcard with the view of Nikolaev, where the Rebbe was born, featuring one of its avenues. 2. Poscard depicting Yekaterinoslav, where the Rebbe grew up. The photograph features the Starocha Island, which is part of the town, and a row of trees on the bank of the river. The Rebbe's father, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak, married the Rebbetzin Chanah Yanovsky, the daughter of Rabbi Meir Shlomo Yanovsky, who served as the Rav of Nikolaev. There, the Rebbe and his two brothers were born. In 1909, when the Rebbe was 7 years old, the Rebbe the Rashab offered the Rebbe's father, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak, the position of Rav of Yekaterinoslav (Dnipro of today). Eventually, he became the Chief Rabbi of the town, a position he held for approx. 32 years. The Rebbe grew up there and thirteen year later, left it to live close to th ehouse of his in-law, the Rayatz (there are different versions as to where exactly he lived). The postcards were found by the Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka when she emptied her mother-in-law's apartment and she gave them to her sister-in-law, Rebbetzin Chanah Gourarie.
