An Extremely Rare Letter by Rabbi Elchanan Wasserman to His Brother-in-Law Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski
A letter handwritten and signed by Rabbi Elchanan Wasserman to his brother-in-law Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky of Vilnius. 12 lines handwritten by him! The letter is written on a postcard. On its reverse side, the handwritten details (in English) of the sender and addressee.
A unique item! Correspondence between these two leading rabbis, who were brothers-in-law, has never been seen in auctions!
The letter is about Rabbi Wasserman's planned trip to Lodz. At the end of the letter, he writes: "He who blesses him that God will send him speedy recovery from heaven together with all the sick of Israel" and signs: "Elchanan Bonem Wasserman".
Rabbi Elchanan Bonem Wasserman (1874-1941) was a leading rabbi and head of Yeshiva before the Holocaust. He was the disciple of the 'Chafetz Chaim' and author of the book "Kovetz Shi'urim" which is a basic textbook. He died in the Holocaust.
