Two Early Fascinating Letters by the "Sabba" Rabbi Yisrael Dov Odesser – The Hospital of Safed, 1927
Two letters handwritten by the "Sabba" on the same day – Sabbath eve, the first day of Chol Ha'Moed Pesach, 1927.
During that time he lay sick in the "Hadassah" Hospital of Safed.
One of the letters is addressed to Rabbi Shmuel Horowitz an dthe other to Rabbi Ya'akov Ze'ev Cohen "Breslaver" Brezevsky.
The letters contain words of support and comfort, as his usual manner.
Among others, the "Sabba" writes: "and now I am again lying here in the hospital … and I need great mercy since I am sick in my lung … so I request that you pray for me and write holy words to revive me in a place low and far from holiness…"
One of the letters was signed by him: "Yisrael Ber Breslaver".
Pencil and ink.
Condition: Good. Wrinkles and folding marks. Slight slits.
