Twelve Pages of Letters,by Shen Yinmo - Shen Yinmo (1883-1971), born in Wuxing, Zhejiang under original name Junmo, was a paramount calligrapher, scholar and poet of modern China. After studying in Japan, he served as professor at Peking University and president of Beiping University. Specializing in regular and running scripts, he rooted his style in the Two Wangs (Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi) while integrating Tang dynasty techniques and Jin dynasty lyricism, creating a distinctive clear and elegant manner. His calligraphy demonstrates exquisite brushwork and refined structure, particularly seen in masterpieces like Poems from Danjing Lodge and Su Shi's Ci Poems. Committed to calligraphy education, he authored theoretical works including Calligraphic Treatises and Glimpses of Two Wangs' Calligraphy, systematically organizing brushwork theory. He was hailed as ”key figure in modern revival of model-book study”. As deputy director of Central Research Institute of Culture and History and first chairman of Chinese Calligraphy and Seal Cutting Research Association, he profoundly influenced the传承与发展 of New China's calligraphic art.
