Landscape,Zhu Qizhan - Zhu Qizhan (1892–1996), a native of Taicang, Jiangsu, was a renowned modern Chinese painter celebrated for his landscapes and flower-and-bird paintings, as well as his calligraphy. His artistic style integrated Chinese and Western techniques. In his early years, he followed traditional methods, while his later works evolved into a bold, vigorous, and unrestrained manner. Characterized by powerful brushwork and vivid, daring use of color, he developed a distinctive personal style. His artistry was often described as ”uninhibited and sincere, revealed through aged brushstrokes.” Representative works include ”Pine and Rock” and ”Plum, Orchid, Bamboo, and Chrysanthemum.” Dedicated to artistic creation and education throughout his life, Zhu served as a standing committee member of the Shanghai Artists Association. In his later years, he was awarded the ”Shanghai Literature and Art Lifetime Achievement Award.” His influence on the development of modern Chinese painting remains profound.
