Painting by Tang Luming with Calligraphy by Jin Jiedi - Tang Luming (1804-1874) was a renowned late Qing Dynasty painter, celebrated for his exquisite depictions of beautiful women and vibrant flower-and-fruit paintings. Born into an artistic family—his father, Tang Yifen, was a celebrated painter and poet—Tang Luming developed a refined and elegant style. His works, characterized by their graceful figures and delicate use of color, are considered representative of the period's figure painting and secured his reputation as a significant artist of his time. His younger brother, Tang Jinjie, was likewise a talented painter who carried forward and enhanced the family's esteemed artistic legacy. He specialized in flower paintings, demonstrating a fresh, vibrant style and a masterful command of the brush that reflected his own innate talent and skill. While historical records about him are less extensive than those of his elder brother, obscuring his fame to a degree, Tang Jinjie was nevertheless a respected artist of his day with a distinct artistic voice.
