Longevity Peaches,by Wu Changshuo - Wu Changshuo (August 1, 1844 – November 29, 1927), originally named Jun, also known as Junqing, with the courtesy name Changshuo, and other pseudonyms such as Cangshi, Cangshi, Lao Cang, and Lao Fu, was born in Zhangwu Village, Xiaofeng County, Zhejiang (now Anji County, Huzhou). He was a renowned Chinese painter, calligrapher, and seal engraver during the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. Wu was a prominent figure of the ”Houhai School” and the first president of the Xiling Seal Society in Hangzhou. Wu Changshuo was celebrated for his mastery in traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy, and seal carving. His work is known for its bold brushwork, vivid color palette, and emphasis on the use of ancient Chinese aesthetics. Wu played a key role in the development of modern Chinese seal carving and was an influential figure in the cultural circles of his time. His artistic achievements made him one of the most revered figures in Chinese art history.
