3rd–6th century: Bronze Śarīra Container - Cast in bronze and composed of a lid and body, this vessel is solid in substance, cloaked in rich verdigris interspersed with reddish-brown copper showing through; its patina is naturally aged, carrying a profound sense of passage through time. The body features a contracted mouth, narrowing inward then flaring gently outward—lines clean, rounded, and unadorned, embodying quiet dignity. The lid is flat, centered by a lotus motif with neatly arranged petals in balanced, softly flowing curves, refined yet unostentatious. Inside linger faint traces of fabric and precious offerings, enduring witnesses to its original consecration. Firmly shaped and robustly cast, this is a quintessential Buddhist reliquary of the 3rd–6th centuries; the lotus symbolizes purity, and its exceptional preservation confers both sacred and historical significance.
