12th Century, Goryeo Celadon Yang-Carved Floral Cup - This rounded cup features a gently constricted mouth with an even, thin rim; its curved walls swell generously before tapering smoothly downward, supported by a neatly finished low foot with straight, precisely cut edges. Throughout, the silhouette is full and rounded, lines flowing and harmonious, proportions balanced and assured. At the interior center, a raised roundel flower is carved in shallow relief—crisp in outline, centrally placed, elegant in simplicity. The entire piece is coated in a celadon glaze of translucent green-tinged hue, the surface finely and densely crazed. Faintly exposed pale body at rim and foot frames the glaze, enhancing its antique grace and limpid beauty. Stately yet lively in form, it possesses enduring charm.
