Bidspirit auction | Qing Dynasty, Ge Ware-Imitating Double-Handle

Qing Dynasty, Ge Ware-Imitating Double-Handle Censer - Modelled after ancient Song prototypes: gently flared mouth, smoothly rounded belly, three sturdy short feet, and a pair of upright, elegant handles—perfectly balanced and timeless in proportion. The entire body is covered in a luminous, pale bluish-white glaze, traversed by a dense network of crackle lines in dark and pale tones—the celebrated ”gold thread and iron wire”—naturally formed and beautifully aged, evoking the spirit of ancient Ge ware. It comes complete with a finely carved, openwork wooden lid with a glowing coral-red bead finial, and a matching carved hardwood stand. Housed in its original old storage box with an inscribed label, testifying to its provenance. Faithfully capturing both the form and subtle beauty of the classic Song Ge kiln, this is a refined, high-quality imperial-style archaistic censer—elegant, scholarly, and deeply cherished.
