Netherlands Dukat 1770 - KM-12.3, HPM-Ho 15, Delmonte G-775, Fr-250; Gold (.986), 3,46 g.; 21.8 mm. A choice specimen of this historic trade coin with sharp details remaining on the knight's armor and the reverse scrollwork. Obverse: Features a standing knight in armor facing right, holding a sword in his right hand and a bundle of seven arrows in his left. The date ”1770” is split by the figure. The legend reads: ”CONCORDIA·RES· PAR·CRES·HOL·”. Reverse: Displays a square tablet with an ornamental border containing the five-line inscription: ”MO:ORD: PROVIN: FOEDER: BELG·AD LEG·IMP·”. Boasts the rich, saturated luster typical of high-purity Dutch gold. The surfaces are remarkably clean with only very light evidence of handling. XF
