Lengthy letter, [35] lines handwritten and signed by the gaon Rabbi Shmuel Fried, a member of Va'ad HaRabbanim and of the beit din in Vilna, and one of the geonim of Vilna in the time of the rabbi of the entire Diaspora, Rabbeinu Chaim Ozer. Volozhin, Cheshvan, 1902. Letters from him are rare.



The letter contains warm blessings for the addressee's wedding: "May it be the will of Our Father in Heaven that the wedding take place at an auspicious time, with mazal tov. May He Who Dwells on High shower an abundance of blessings on [your] head and on the head of [your] fine chosen [spouse]. May [you] be satiated and imbibe from Hashem's goodness and his pleasantness together. May you be planted all your days among springs of happiness and wealth. May you have a pleasant life together - a life of happiness and honor. May you be happy and blessed on the land, with joyous hearts ..."



Another leaf bears a letter from a young lady announcing her engagement to the young man Baruch Menachem Lunz of Kelm.

Very fine condition. Fold marks, minimal aging stains.
