About the Author Rabbi Avraham Even-Susan (1797–1903) was born in Salé, Morocco—the hometown of the Or HaChaim HaKadosh. His father, Rabbi Yitzchak HaLevi (a dayan in Salé and author of Pachad Yitzchak, an unpublished collection of responsa), immigrated to the Land of Israel with his family in 1848 and settled in Tiberias.
