Order of Prayers and Machzor According to the Custom of the Sephardic Congregation – Amsterdam, 1771 Three Volumes in Original Decorated Leather Bindings – Signed by the Publisher, Cantor Jacob da Silva Mendes Order of prayers according to the custom of the Sephardic congregation for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and fast days. Printed in Amsterdam at the press of Gerard Johan Jansson, at Beit Yisrael Mondovi, 1771. Three volumes out of five, containing the prayers for the Days of Judgment and fast days, following the tradition of the Sephardic community of Amsterdam. In the volume of fast days (leaf 128/1) and at the end of the machzor volume, handwritten signatures of the publisher, Cantor Jacob da Silva Mendes, appear. He served as the cantor of the Sephardic synagogue in Amsterdam during the 18th century. The volumes are elegant and richly adorned, bound in their original leather bindings with elaborate gilt decorations on the covers and spines. Book details: Rosh Hashanah: [1], 86, [1] leaves.
