Meet Hila Rubinstein (1980), an Israeli street photographer that we decided to add to the auction just before it starts :)
Hila lives and works in Tel Aviv, studied photography at Alon Kira.

"The more I took more street photos the more I looked for interesting events to photograph them and that's how I rolled into the world of the ultra-Orthodox.

As a secularist I watched them from the side and as I got closer and filmed their events, something in me changed and my connection to them became strong and from a place that contains and accepts and even admires and lingers to receive from this energy. Through photography and the journey of life, I became closer to religion and my connection became stronger. "

Through photography, Hila seeks to connect the secular to the religious and to present their rituals in a receiving light.

On the difficulty of being a photographer woman in the ultra-Orthodox world Hila says '' Most of the really interesting things are read in the men's wing and that's very difficult to get into - when I'm around them the energy becomes complex and some are threatened by the camera, but I learned to face the challenge with a smile and acceptance. I'm still trying to hone my methods when the main goal in terms of the result of the photo is to bring maximum authenticity. ''
