Graduated with a BA in Art from the Department of Art, Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem ''My works begin with the act of rapid drawing, the creation is driven by a state of ”disconnected” stream of consciousness and processed into a language that I have built over the years, consisting of signs, codes and private jokes. The product sustains a landscape, islands full of creatures, body parts, forests of needles, melting ice cream.The signs maintain relationships and connections between themselves and most of the time the internal logic of the work is understood to me only after it has been made. The images I draw from the real world and from a visual space of computer language. The work contains texts with a sound effect that brings the viewer closer to understanding without actual explanation. In my works I examine what the image becomes when it is pulled from the private, routine and undifferentiated situation; and gains attribution, and a unique status and even gains the status of an icon.'' These days Yael owns a tattoo studio and draws the figures of her girl/teenager and the sign language she has created and collected over the years into permanent skin drawings.
