EREZOO - 'Thieves! Thieves!' 2019. Marker on framed cardboard 40/61 cm signed EREZOO, is the stage name of Erez Sameah (1987), a graffiti artist who lives and resides in Haifa. Illustration, graphic design and graffiti are his three ways of expression. He enlisted in the 50th Battalion of the Nahal, established artistic frameworks in Holon and Jerusalem and became involved in the field of street art. ”Even during the army I painted, ” he says. My core and I were part of a collective of artists that Ziv joined for the first time. We started to produce t-shirts with our paintings and sold them at festivals like Indingv and Menashe, and on a trip I met an acquaintance of mine who painted graffiti on a bridge. I don't have to draw only on shirts, I can also draw on bridges.” In his work Erez focuses on our choices as human beings on our ways of dealing with life - how we react to situations and how we behave in them. Erez often creates an enigmatic story that combines real and surreal situations into one play.
