Tom Fima - Drawing, 2024. Ink and watercolor on paper, framed 14 x 21 cm (frame 22 x 28 cm) signed Tom (b. 1996) figurative painter, creates mainly in the medium of oil paints. Tom studied art at Tel Aviv University, after which she continued to study curation at the Israeli Art House and to study realistic painting at the Art Academy in Barcelona. In the past year she returned to Israel, to haifa/ today she lives and works in tel aviv. During her stay in Spain, she fell in love with the Spanish impressionist painters (Soroya, Ramon Casas) and their love for painting women in elegant but natural poses, much of the time desperate or tired. From there, she began to put herself in the shoes of those models and tries to imitate their mentors. Combining the studies of realistic painting techniques, together with her love for impressionist art, makes the line of painting more loose. Tom goes back and looks for movement in the painting, and constantly strives to build and destroy the painting so that there are parts of the painting that remain very realistic, and there are parts that the viewer's eye has to complete.
