Nurit Arbel - ”Paris” 2026. oil on wood 39/26 cm signed Nurit Arbel (b. 1981) is one of the most esteemed Israeli painters of her generation, known for small-scale oil paintings that capture intimate moments of everyday life. Her works do not document major events but rather the quiet moments in between a fleeting glance, afternoon light, a gathering around a table, an encounter with animals, or a small gesture between family members. From these mundane scenes, she constructs a world imbued with memory, longing, and emotional stillness. With a sure hand and exceptional painterly sensitivity, Arbel transforms transient moments into timeless images, where light and composition tell the story just as much as the figures themselves. Arbel lives and works in Givat Haim. She studied at Israel Hershberg’s studio in Jerusalem and is a graduate of the Avni Institute of Art in Tel Aviv and Studio 6B.
