Oil on wood, framed 70/50 cm Signed Anna Lukashevsky (b. 1975) is an Israeli figurative painter, originally from Ukraine, who immigrated to Israel in 1990. She studied at the Avni Institute in Tel Aviv and was a founding member of the ”New Barbizon” group—an art collective established in the early 2000s by artists from the former Soviet Union, including Zoya Cherkassky, Natalia Zourabova, Olga Kondina, and Asya Lukin. The group played an influential role in the revival of figurative painting in Israel, combining contemporary realism with social and cultural observation. Lukshevsky paints subjects drawn from her immediate world—family members, friends, domestic interiors, and everyday landscapes. Her paintings are characterized by sensitive observation and an ability to imbue routine moments with emotional depth and a quiet presence. Through meticulous realism, she explores the relationship between the individual and their surroundings, as well as the ways in which memory, light, and personal experience become embedded in the everyday environment. Over the years, she has held solo exhibitions and participated in group shows at major museums and galleries in Israel and abroad. Her works are included in both private and public collections, and she is considered a prominent figure in contemporary Israeli figurative painting.
