Leszek Stańko (1925–2011) - Mountain Cottage, 1978. Oil on plate Dimensions: 29 × 33 cm, 43 x 53 cm (with frame) Signed, dated and described lower right: LESZEK STAŃKO / ZAKOPANE / 78 An intimate Tatra landscape depicting a wooden mountain hut situated among rocks and high-mountain vegetation, against the background of blue-gray mountain ranges. The composition is maintained in Leszek Stańko's characteristic luminous color range, with a clear dominant of cool blues, greens and grays, broken by accents of pink, purple and warm browns. The painting is painted freely, with a clear paint texture and an energetic brush stroke. The artist does not build the landscape photographically, but synthesizes it into a painterly impression: the cottage, boulders, vegetation and mountain ranges create a compact, rhythmic structure of color and light. Particularly impressive is the contrast of the heavy, wooden shape of the hut with the soft, misty part of the mountains in the background. The work comes from 1978, i.e. from the mature period of Stańko's work, when the theme of the Tatra landscape was one of his most recognizable motifs. Similar shots of Zakopane, pastures, huts and mountain views are particularly appreciated on the collector's market. Additional fees: +5% / 3% Droit de suite
