A mid-20th century cast metal knight fire companion set stand A decorative cast metal figure of a knight in full plate armour, designed as a stand for a fire companion set. The figure is depicted in a standing pose, leaning upon a broadsword and wearing a long cloak. The main body is constructed from a non-ferrous metal alloy featuring a polished iridescent finish. The reverse of the figure is open-backed, containing a cast iron bracket with three integral hooks for the suspension of fireplace tools. The figure is mounted on a semi-circular cast iron base plate. The helmet features a hinged top section which opens to reveal a circular aperture, likely intended for a table lighter or match holder insert. No maker's marks or signatures are present.
