HISTORY - DE RONGIER Y FULLERAD, Don Silvestre (m. 1902) - Canonization of the Japanese Martyrs and Blessed Michael of the Saints - Lot of 18 documents, mostly letters and certificates dated 1856-1857, concerning the Spanish scholar and catholic priest, author of several catholic books such as “Historia de la Canonizacion de los Mártires Japoneses Y del Beato Miguel de los Santos” (El Valenciano, 1862) and “La elocuencia sagrada en los cuatro primeros siglos del cristianismo” (Fortanet, Madrid,1868), attesting his ordination as a priest, his appointment in the dioceses of Bellùs with autograph signature of Valencian archbishop Pablo Abella, his qualification as a teacher at the Industrial School of Commerce of Valencia, as professor of Latin and Castilian grammar in the city of Xàtiva, and other literary and scientific qualifications at the Literary university of Valencia. Included in the lot, four letters from the Valencian government addressed to de Rongier, one autograph letter signed by de Rongier to the archbishop Abella asking for the licence “…para benedicir los objetos de uso sagrado que reciba…”.
