Chairman of the Reparations Commission (1922-1926), Minister of Justice (1926-1929), Minister of Foreign Affairs (February to October 1934). He was killed in the attempt on the life of King Alexander I of Yugoslavia, whom he had come to welcome to Marseille. Académie française 1918.
