[MUSIC] - Gian Francesco Malipiero – Two Autograph Musical Worlds A Journey into “Celestial Worlds” with the Master’s Own Hand: Two Rare Annotated Scores - MALIPIERO Gian Francesco - Two autograph music scores signed titled “Mondi Celesti” and “Serenata Mattutina”, respectively dated “14 VII 1958” and “20 V 1959” by the Italian composer, musicologist, He was a professor of composition at the Parma Conservatory from 1921 to 1924. In 1932 he became professor of composition at the then Venice Liceo Musicale, which he directed from 1939 to 1952. Among others, he taught Luigi Nono and his own nephew Riccardo Malipiero. His orchestral works include seventeen compositions he called symphonies, of which however only eleven are numbered. Malipiero offers these scores as a gift to Gianfranco Zaffrani in July 1967. “Mondi Celesti” consists of 9 pentagrammed pages in-4 with many notes and corrections in pencil. “Serenata Mattutina” consists of 29 pentagrammed pages in-4 with some corrections. Both scores are bound in half parchment.
