Napoli, Stamperia Simoniana, 1778-1783. 4to (25 cm), 4 volumes in contemporary wrappers (quite worn at corners and spines, with some tiny holes in the covers, else a genuine, uncut and mostly unopened copy (some light general foxing due to paper quality). Vol I: pp. (12), 445; (3 of which 2 blanks); Vol II. Pp. (8), 362. Vol III: pp. (6), 363-667, (1 blank). Vol. IV: pp. (8), 348. Seems missing a likely blank leaf at the end of vol. I, placed after the conclusion of the text, and before the ‘errata’ leaf. First edition of this remarkable work, like all those of this cultured Neapolitan jurist of the 18th century; despite what is stated in the introduction of the first volume, so to include the whole story of trade and navigation in 4 volumes, he had to stop long before reaching his own time.
